This made me smile…….

It says the Rolls Royce was worth $600,000. Surely they mean COST ? - 'Worth' implies VALUE. To me it is worth nothing because I have little use for it.

This made me smile…….

The video is removed.

I remember working with a guy (steel mill and back in the 1990's) that had a tear drop tattooed on his face, we were talking one day, forget what but it came around to something like this thread topic.

He had gone to a dealership with his HD to get a WOF (roadworthy check) the genius in the workshop after being told not to (the owner was in the same area watching) jacked the bike up under the sump to check the steering head.

Of course the jack broke the engine case.
Apparently old mate (and I had no impression to doubt it :D) casually went over and knocked the 'tech out, right there in the workshop, maybe he had a smile on his face when he did it.

The shop had to replace the engine cases and bet they did a good job without complaint.

I’ve felt like doing that to techs working on my bikes, or more so cars, in the past.

But I feared that in doing so I’d be guilty of child abuse...

Best to do the work yourself most of the time , unless it a newer model full of the black boxes ....part of the joy and pride of ownership , eh have yet to pay a tech. for anything other than safety inspection due every other year , on any of my bikes ....ever ..... lots of mistakes lots learned ... a poor man’s education ....

Craig,
I'm still paying off my poor man's education!

Can't work on any modern car, and a lot of modern bikes without fancy computer programs. Shame really, my first bike was a $250 Honda, couldn't afford anything else. Spent HOURS working on that bike and learned everything I needed to know.

Still can't afford a new bike, but I enjoy turning a wrench as much as riding so I'm ok with it.

Never owned a car.

Yup, we are still helping to pay our offspring’s education .... never did have a brand new bike , did have one brand new ‘84Jeepcj7 though , briefly , sold it to help finance house restorations .... Jeeps and VWs been a recurring theme with us along with the beater halfton trucks ..... been life long devotee of the wisdom in “keep it simple stupid”

My next "new" truck may be a 50s Chevy pickup with a crate 350 / 2 barrel carb, upgraded suspension, and original style wheels. (with aftermarket A/C, of course).

I'm all done with "new and improved"

That vid is a good one.... Reminds me of some of the folks around here. Not me though because I'm far too young at heart... I just feel physically old today after this English cannibal attacking me yesterday & this morning again.
