Scroll to the bottom of the page, on the left hand side, you should see "Norton Commando Forum" left click, then select Norton Commando Forum for dark background.

(Default Style for light background).

Slight confusion then, it seems, and a correction as someone viewing in light background will see the Style chooser as "Default Style" and those viewing in dark will see "Norton Commando Forum", at bottom left of the page.

"Stay logged in" works fine for me. Make sure you enable cookies in your browser?
FYI - I went thru setting cookies in Mozilla Foxfire to save them until they expire, not until Foxfire is closed. "Stay Logged In" works until I restart my laptop, but then I have to log in again. This is the only forum that now works that way for me.

It still doesn't work. I select "Norton Commando Forum", hit save changes and it reverts back to default, white back ground. Could this be a Safari problem? I mean really, was the old format really that bad?

Hi Guido and Bill,

The old format was not that bad to look at. It worked well. I want to be clear that the only reason for the new forum is security related. The old forum was old and very insecure. It had already been hacked a few times. Trust me I dont want to be sitting here for hours on end working on this, i'd rather be out riding my commando ;). Anyway back to business:

It sounds like I need to look at the forum cookie system. I will try and spend some time analyzing this issue later for you guys. If you are staying logged in with any browser then its not on the forum side.

As mentioned you can associate your login with Facebook if you have it, then if you are logged into Facebook, you will never have to login again. Click "Login with Facebook" button during login an do what it asks. There will also be a login with Google button if you are logged into google all the time. I have to get to that. I will take a look at the cookie system again to make sure its working ok too.

Here are a few things I am experiencing:
- I do not stay logged in despite checking that option
- If I try to log in while reading a thread it tells me I must be logged in to do that. Then usually if I go back to the home page I am logged in. But I have had a few instances when that didn't work and I had to fiddle around. I have not been able to repeat all responses so I don't have more information about it.
- I tried to update my profile and it told me I must enter information in all required fields. I am not sure what they are or why they are.

Sorry dude!

If you are being logged out after selecting the "Stay Logged In" check, please try this:

1) There are 2 ways to login. You can use the drop down from the top of the page or you can use the link on the menu bar. Please try using the link on the menu bar. I have coded it so the "Stay Logged In" should be auto checked. This method works for me in call browsers.

2) I have also added and configured the Google auto login. That might not work if you have popups turned off in your browser.

<- I will look into this

I am looking at the Stay Logged in Feature now. Please try logging in using the method mentioned in the post above and let me know if that keeps you logged in.

I think I might have fixed the "Stay logged in issue" - Please let me know if it works for you now.

Jerry,
Perhaps I need to clean my reading glasses more often. I went back to the profile and it says my first and last name are required. D'oh! I entered these and it let me update.

I tried logging out, then went to a thread and used the log in menu button to log back in. The option to stay logged in was checked when it came up. So I logged back in without any problem. Now to see if I stay that way.

However, I closed the tab with the forum and reopened the page on a new tab and I was not logged in. I used the same method to log in but it didn't show me logged in, but no error message. I clicked home (to refresh) and it showed me logged in.

I think this was mentioned previously, but I just tried to post a link to another thread and couldn't figure out how to make it work. This is a handy feature for keeping archived stuff active.

I added this to the list for review...

Sorry, if I close my browser or restart my lap top, I still come back logged out. The stay logged in button is now auto checked though. Logging back in is not a big deal, you just didn't ever have to before.

You should not have to log back in. I am working on styling and design still and I will look into it more later for you...

I also just discovered that if I do a search, it brings up the list of posts matching the criteria. I can right click the item in the list and copy the address, but if I open the post that then I would need to use the permalink option. But what if I want to provide a link to the entire thread? We could previously right click the thread title and copy that link to a new post.

If you open the Permalink, there is also a 'thread:' link option

One observation is the posts no longer display the place the poster is from (unless you click on the poster's monicker)
Small post but maybe with mentioning
Cheers
