I like the silver paint on your yokes, they look like alloy. What paint did you use?

Thanks Fast Eddie, yokes are powder coated.

Seem to have got images the right way round now, deleted them and re-uploaded as suggested by L.A.B.

Getting closer!

Mark, are you sticking with the timed breather on the end of the camshaft or are you adding one at the rear of the timing case or back/bottom f the crankcase?

Hi Danno, staying with standard (for now), will see how it performs but I wanted to keep things as std as possible with the exception of certain improvements.
Your flood victim looks to be coming along - keep up the good work!
Cheers, Mark

I'm trying to keep fv stock as possible, but I just received a Boyer ignition to add. The 850's breathing seems adequate as-is, but I might plumb in a power brake valve like I did on the SS clone to smooth out the pulses and help preclude leaks. Also plan on doing the oil seal addition to the tach drive for the same reason.

Hey Mark - I have a MikesXS reed valve breather that was only on the bike 6 mos before I tore it down. It certainly worked well.

I have a Comnoz sump breather now since I am building a new motor and not concerned with keeping it stock as it was a bitsa to start.

You cold have it for $10 plus a few for shipping. Danno tells me you should buy it!

Cheers,
David

Hi David,
Sorry for the delay replying, it has been a bit chaotic recently but finally some time off work to get some more done on the bike.
I am going to see how the engine runs and leaks (or otherwise) without the breather but if it does leak will get back to you as price looks good!

Hopefully get it running over Christmas!

Great to see so much progress with all the other bikes, there is a lot of high quality and hard work going on!

All the best everyone, Mark

Yours is looking good. I'm doing a lot of thumb-twiddling waiting for this & that on Rick's bike...

Happy Christmas!

Mark, a common enough mistake seen all too often on Commandos, but the rear brake cable needs re-routing over the Z-plate (see below) not under.

Brake cable routed correctly (thanks L.A.B):

While on the subject of brake cables, there is a spring that loops around the brake pedal attachment. It prevents the pedal from dropping down and digging in the ground in case the cable breaks. Not sure who in the UK has it, I get mine from Waldridges in Canada.

He showed the spring installed on the pedal.

Hi htown16, yes spring fitted as spotted by Paul - Andover sell them here in the UK.

Mark,
Well spotted re the missing Champagne - I've quizzed the wife and she claims they are in the fridge  !!

Should have the remaining pipe on this week, will leave the painted parts until after it's running, I've borrowed a small slave tank to start it.

All the best everyone, Mark
