Interesting Motorcycle Vids

There are a whole lot of U tube videos on counter steering;

The point is, a solo bike does counter steer , for those who do not understand it , and this is for experienced riders only, find a nice quite road with no roadside obstructions or traffic, ride at about 25-30mph but no more , at either a left or right road junction ( depending on which side of the road you drive on) but for arguments sake say we ride on the right, approach junction to your right, that you can easily take at 25-30 without scraping the footrests and carefully lean slightly too much –without falling off, pick up the bike to correct it and then look where the handlebars are as the front wheel corrects itself- you will notice it slightly to the left ( and vice –versa if it was a left-hand turn)

Cycles are dangerous and can steer either way to turn same direction with or w/o both hands on grips.
Pay attention for insights on gryos and CoG changes on double hinge forks leverage.

Motoretta Tourist Trophy

The Motoretta Tourist Trophy or Moto TT for short, is an annual motorsports event for classic scooter riders.
The competition is a 4 day, 1000 mile time trial team ride for classic geared two-stroke scooters. This is an endurance and navigation competition, not a race. An epic test of man and machine, taking in the BEST roads and scenery in New Zealand’s North Island and the chance to win the amazing handcrafted MotoTT trophy. Teams of 3 or 4 riders compete to match predetermined times for each stage of the course with points allocated each day.

These guys are pretty hard core at times, roadside oxy welding and doing THE DIRT on their vinage scoooters on these rides. My mate is taking his slot driving the support van at the start.

Riding a motorcycle under those heavy traffic conditions is my idea of a nightmare. Why would you do it ? Even on an empty freeway is not good.

I guess you could just ride out on your own or with a few friends and set your own pace. It doesn't look like a parade where you have to stick behind a pace vehicle. Some people like to ride in large groups, but it wouldn't be my choice.

Just part of living in the city and continuing to ride. Every day I ride to work ~25k. Half of it is twisty country "B" road, the other half is lane splitting down a crawling motorway. Each has a challenge... but one is more fun than the other. If I gave in to the "I hate riding in traffic" mantra, I would end up in a car all day every day, and I dont want that. (as I have already semi given in to the "I am from Seattle and used to ride in the rain every day - and I hate riding in the rain now" mantra)

I have been in the UK and on the west coast of America. Australian drivers are much more aggressive and competitive. If you are riding a motorcycle, to our car drivers you don't even exist, because you are not a threat to their existence.
