Flood Victim

Thanks Dave. Just taking advantage of the site's new photo-posting setup.

Tested the repaired and sealed original tank today. It held 2 gallons of 40:1 premix with no leakage. Next I will smooth and primer it and fill it to the top of the neck with regular gaws and let it sit overnight.

Reuilt the front brake caliper and master cylinder yesterday. Got lever backpressure from the M/c with a bolt in the hole where the hose screws in. Old hose was hopelessly clogged, so a replacement has been ordered.

Got the brake hose in the mail and the front brake seems functional. Waiting on t/s flasher, footpeg rubbers and a peg stud.

Finsihed the pimary drive and mocked-up the pipes to see what I'd need. 3 bolts and one clamp. Intake and fuel and it should be ready for test firing.

Timed the Boyer yesterday. Couldn't get a spark until I realized it needed a gound wire from the left coil. Carbs next.

Muffler clamp was incorrect size, so I used the old one to buttton up the exhaust.

Hope the unit still works because a bad or no ground can hurt the trigger diode in the black box.

Good luck in getting the bike running today.
How many years since it last ran?

Bike has no fuel system yet. Needs carbs/intakes air cleaner and cables assembled. Tank is a work in progress, but the plan is to use my fiberglass Roadster tank for testing with some no-ethanol fuel.

Unknown how long since it last ran. It was deliveed here a year ago in the sorry condition illustrated in the photo to the left.

If you need some carbs, I have my old used 932s that would need a rubuild and resleeve I could let you have cheap.

Thanks Dave, but I have the low-mileage originals. They have been soaked clean and will get a final cleaning before reassembly with rebuild kits, new float needles and Stay-up floats. It's just a matter of getting around to it. Other than the finish work on the tank and sidecovers, it's the last project left to do. Trying to remember how to post a pic.

Thanks, Pete. Hoping to have it running in a week or so. Paint may be a while since the outside temp is dropping now.
