By popular demand, here is a few shots of some tuff bins and other bits that will be a Dommi Racer one day. With the exception of the engine which is in the machine shop right now this is it in its entirety, three tuff bins hiding behind a frame.

This is my inspiration for the build. A Norvil 650SS

This is what I'm starting with its a numbers matching 66 650 SS Dominator # Engine 117340, Frame 117340, Transmission 11735. I'm Not sure of how it works with the transmission numbers differ from the rest of the bike, but its fine by me.

I got the bike from an add I found on INOA website, from a gentleman in Colorado who has been mailing it to me piece by piece. For the last three months I have been receiving parts and cleaning them up and putting them in the tuff bins.

Here is some of the work so far.

This will be a good one to watch, thanks for the pics Greg. Hopefully this thread won't get filled with distractions from disgruntled people.

I'm sure someone will disapprove of some of my likes or methods, but hopefully they can be civil :D

It may not seem so, but it is all there in those tuff bins, and not much left to get, except the rims, tyres, petrol /oil tanks and seat. Oh yea, exhaust and a bunch of other bits now that I think of it. :(

Damn everything you've touched sure does shine or look extra clean. The final product will be great I'm sure.

Looking good Caferider,
I can't wait to see the finished bike, if the standard of the parts you've refurbished is anything to go by, the finished bike should be a stunner!
All the parts you need to finish it (including the high exhaust system) are available from RGM and Unity Equipe.

All the best

Gday Caferider, yep your off to good start with some handy parts there. I must agree about that 650 SS being some inspiration, very nice except for that primary cover! To me it looks like its come off an old horse drawn grain harvester. Bob Newby makes a far better example. All the best with the build mate regards Foxy

Unfortunately they don't have many pics in the online catalog and I cant be sure if it is the right bits I would be ordering. I'm sure a phone call could be in order. I'm not sure on the high level exhaust on the Norvil I like the TT pipes from Viking but Paul hasnt made them for a 650 and it would take some time.

I love these pipes on this Dommi

Yes it is a site!!! I'm sure its hiding a wide belt drive. I plan to go with a wide, stock looking black fiberglass cover to keep them guessing.

That frame & engine are very close to my '66 650 SS featherbed frame on my TriTon project. Your work is excellent in finish; the bike is sure to be a stunner.

"Kegler Domi" on the oil tank; is that the late Heinz Kegler?

Nice bike.

I'm hoping my financial situation changes significantly for the better, in which case my TriTon and the "Have it Your Way" Commando project will become additions to my personal AHRMA vintage racing fleet.

Nice Bike Beng :D
I think it looks all the better not being too shiny, gives it a bit of old racer character (which of course it is!)

Have you seen this bike?

Smartly done. Might be a little too bright for my tastes.
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

Hi Caferider,
Yes, the Unity Equipe catalogue could be better, but after a little research for my Triton (see my thread "Triton Exhaust, you opinions please")
the TT style pipes are available for your bike, I'll dig out the part number if you need it.
The second high level system is also available for your bike from Steve Maney http://www.stevemaney.com/products.html. If you go down this route have a chat with Kenny (aka Homeslice on this forum) at NYC Norton, he's got one fitted to his race bike.

Good Luck with your project

When will you understand the difference between a race bike and a road bike, doen't the word café racer have one part of it which means it it meant to look like a racer but not be a real one :?:

Man are you dense :!:

Webby, I love the Maney exhaust BUT ....579.00 GBP = 926.516 USD
The Viking TT is not even close to that, and for that matter I could go custom made here for less.
